Entry load

It used to be the fee levied by the fund house when an investor joined an investment scheme such as an MF, to cover its distributional expenses (for distributing the fund or scheme among customers, brokers, distributors). 

However, in August 2009, SEBI mandated that MF AMCs will not charge an entry load.

How to calculate entry load?

It is computed as a percentage (%) of net asset value.
