Definition of Quote

In investing, a quote is the most recent price or last price at which the seller and buyer agreed to trade a commodity or security. There are bid quotes and ask quotes. Bid quote states the ability and willingness of the buyer to purchase shares at highest price and quantity. The Ask quote states the lowest price at which the seller is ready to sell.

Quoted price is also another term for quote.
